I’m always looking for easy to make wraps and sandwiches that I can either take to work for lunch or I can make at home on the weekends. I don’t like to spend a lot of time making lunch so I want something that’s quick but filling.
One of my favorite wraps that’s filled with veggies is a Chicken Rainbow Wrap with Avocado dressing. Another good one that’s quick to make is a South of the Border Tuna Wrap. We also like Turkey Bacon Ranch Wraps for lunch. If I have some extra time then I’ll turn on the oven and make Reuben Sandwiches.
Last night we had turkey tenderloin and had quite a lot of it left over so I knew I wanted to make a wrap with real turkey in it. While I usually use deli meat in my wraps I figured this would be a good occasion to use real turkey meat.
Over the last few years the tortilla wrap hack has become very popular on TikTok and people have been making them with so many different combinations. I’ve never actually made one before but I figured it was time to try it.
What is the Tortilla Wrap hack?
The tortilla wrap hack is a simple folding technique that became popular on TikTok. Instead of rolling a wrap like a burrito, you make one cut from the center of the tortilla to the edge, place different ingredients in each quarter, then fold the tortilla over itself into a neat triangle. This keeps the fillings in place and makes it easy to toast until crispy.

The key to making this wrap is where you put the filling so that the vegetables and sauce stay cool but the meat and cheese get cooked in the skillet. You also need to slice your turkey thin so it fits in the wrap and heats up.
I decided to use hummus as my sauce, lettuce and red onions as my vegetables, and cheddar cheese for my cheese. You can switch up the sauce, veggies, and cheese to whatever you enjoy most.
Can I use deli meat?
You sure can. Use thinly sliced turkey in place of the turkey breast if you prefer or if you don’t have leftovers to use.
To build the wrap you first use scissors or a knife and cut from the bottom center of the tortilla to the center so that you have one cut half way up the tortilla.

In the bottom right quadrant you will spread your sauce. The top right quadrant will hold the vegetables. Then the top left will be your cheese while the bottom left will be your meat.
Start by folding the sauce on the bottom right on top of the veggies on the top right. Then fold that piece on top of the cheese and fold the whole thing onto the meat. Press it together so that it holds then you can heat it up in a skillet.

Ingredients:
- large flour tortillas
- turkey breast
- cheddar cheese
- lettuce
- red onions
- hummus
- butter

Once the wrap is together melt butter in a pan over medium high heat. Add the wrap, meat side down, and cook for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip it over and cook the other side for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tortilla is golden brown.
This wrap was really tasty! I love that it’s easy to hold in your hand and take a bite so it can be a grab and go lunch.
The outside of the tortilla gets nice and crunchy which works well with the softer ingredients inside the wrap. The cheese melted nicely. The hummus added a creaminess to the wrap and the vegetables added color and additional crunch.
Can you make these in the oven?
If you are making these for a crowd you can certainly cook them all at once in the oven. I would make the wraps, brush both sides with butter, place on a large baking sheet, and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, flipping once halfway through. This will allow all of the wraps to be finished at the same time.
The best part about this wrap is that you can customize it to your own likes. Keep the meat, cheese, vegetables, and sauce in the quadrants listed above but you can use any type of meat, cheese, or vegetables you would like in these wraps. They are so customizable!
Other great meats to use include ham, roast beef, or chicken. For vegetables you can add tomatoes, cucumbers, or avocado. For the sauce use ranch dressing, mayonnaise, mustard, or guacamole.
Since these are easy to make these are great for a quick lunch on a busy day or even as an after school snack. You can also cook them then put them in a lunch box to enjoy at work or school.

How do you store the tortilla wrap?
After cooking the wrap let it cool for a few minutes then place it in an air tight container or wrap in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours or place in a lunch box with a cold pack.

Ingredients
- 2 large flour tortillas
- 2 ounces red pepper hummus
- 1/2 cup lettuce shredded
- 2 Tablespoons red onion thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 4 ounces turkey breast thinly sliced
- 2 Tablespoons salted butter
Instructions
- Lay the two tortillas on a flat, clean work surface. Use a knife or scissors and cut a slit from the bottom of the tortilla up to the center of it.
- Look at the tortilla as if it were in four pieces. Spread the hummus on the bottom right piece.
- On the top right piece divide the lettuce and onions between the two tortillas.
- On the top left sprinkle the cheese and on the bottom left layer the turkey slices.
- To complete the wrap fold up the piece with the hummus on it in the bottom right corner and fold it over top of the vegetables on the top right corner. Then fold that entire piece over top of the piece with the cheese on it then fold that on top of the turkey quadrant. Press it down firmly.
- Meanwhile, heat one tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the tortillas, turkey side down, and cook for 3-5 minutes or until the tortilla is golden brown.
- Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter and then flip over the tortillas so that they are cheese side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the skillet and serve with a dipping sauce if desired.
