Chocolate milk brownie are rich and fudgy. Made with creamy chocolate milk for an extra tender crumb, this brownie is studded with both semisweet and cream cheese chips and is topped off with a layer of luscious chocolate ganache.

When I am in need of a dessert my go to recipes are usually either cookies or brownies. That’s because I always have ingredients on hand for both plus they are quick and easy to make.
This week I had some chocolate milk that needed to be used up so I was trying to think of a creative recipe to use it. I thought brownies might be a good choice as I’ve never had a chocolate milk brownie before but it sounded really good.
Do I have to use chocolate milk?
You don’t have to use chocolate milk but it does add more of a chocolate flavor to the brownies. If you don’t have chocolate milk you can simply use whole milk or even plant based milk if you prefer.
I have quite the collection of brownie recipes. S’mores Brownies are probably one of my favorites and they are super easy to make. I also make these super fun Ghost Brownies that are great for Halloween. When I just want a good, chocolate brownie I turn to Duff’s Brownie Recipe. I even make Vegan Zucchini Brownies for my allergy friendly friends!
Brownies are one of those things that a lot of people make from a box mix but they are really just as easy to make from scratch. I’m always surprised when people say they have never made them from scratch.
These brownies are no exception. I had all the ingredients I needed on hand because most are standard pantry items. I did add both semi-sweet chocolate chips and cream cheese chips to these brownies to add two different flavors to the batter.
Do I have to use those types of chips?
The short answer is no. You can choose to use one cup of a single type of chocolate chip or you can use two different kinds of chips. Choose your favorites but make sure one of them is chocolate. You can do dark chocolate chips and peanut butter chips, milk chocolate chips and cinnamon chips, or white chocolate chips and semi-sweet chips. Try out your favorite combination of chips!
Then to make the brownies even better I topped them off with my chocolate ganache. This is my secret weapon when making brownies and makes any brownie taste even more decadent and delicious.
Ingredients:
- salted butter (or unsalted if you prefer)
- granulated sugar
- eggs
- vanilla extract
- all purpose flour
- unsweetened cocoa powder (regular or Dutch processed)
- baking soda

To make these brownies preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 x 9 square baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well. In another bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Add half the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well. Add in the chocolate milk and stir to combine. Add remaining flour mixture and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes. Cool completely on a wire cooling rack.
These brownies were rich and chocolatey and so good! They were moist and almost melted in the mouth.
I went a step farther and put chocolate ganache on top which made these brownies go from really good to out of this world!
